Certification of E-CO2’s New Dairy Carbon Footprint Model
E-CO2 is pleased to announce the certification of the Dairy Concise Carbon Calculator, or Dairy CCC, as it is commonly known.
The aim in developing the Dairy CCC was to provide for large-scale, rapid carbon footprinting at the farm level, in order to establish the carbon-efficiency of the industry. Akin to the existing suite of carbon footprinting applications, the new Dairy CCC is certified by the Carbon Trust for PAS 2050 compliance.
However, the Dairy CCC process is quicker – requiring less data collection and less time on farm than the existing assessments. The footprinting process does not require an E-CO2 assessor on farm – it can interlink with existing data collection programmes such as farm assurance.
Furthermore, customers can have their staff trained to collect data – or farmers can be trained to assess their own operations – allowing clients to create bespoke assessment and carbon footprinting alternatives. Data can be submitted via our online ‘carbon portal’ – from which farmers can manage their efficiency over time.
